Brembo Gran Turismo Brake Systems (GT) exemplify automotive artwork, and are known worldwide to be the finest brake system available.Brembo GT Systems provide excellent stopping power in everyday traffic, as well as superior high performance street and track driving. They are designed to bolt onto the vehicle's original suspension and are fully compatible with the vehicle's stock brake master cylinder and anti-lock braking system (ABS).GT Brake Systems packages combine high performance fixed aluminum brake calipers, large diameter 1- or 2-piece vented brake rotors, brake pads, stainless steel braided brake hoses and aircraft quality mounting brackets and hardware.Brembo GT Brake Systems are made lightweight for true racing use. All discs, pads, braided metal brake lines, top-end hardware and your choice of 4 caliper colors are included. It's a stunning combination of style, performance and quality.
In most applications, a two-piece "floating" disc assembly is used, with a cast-iron disc specially mounted to a billet aluminum hat. One of the advantages of this type of construction is reduced weight. By making the center-section of the disc out of aluminum, a great deal of weight can be saved in a key location, as it is both unsprung and rotating. The greatest advantage, however, lies in the float itself. The brake discs must cope with extreme temperature levels. In the case of a non-floating disc, thermal stresses develop which lead to warping of the disc and cupping of the braking surface. With the full floating system, the disc is free to grow relative to the bell, and can remain straight and true. The GT system's level of technology and performance is unrivaled by any other product on the market. By utilizing larger calipers and discs, thermal capacity and brake torque is increased. This potent combination offers the extreme in Brembo's leading edge technology for high performance street and track use applications.
